As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, Tirurangadi Municipality organized a mega cleanliness drive on October 1, carrying the message, “Let us join hands for a waste-free new-age Kerala.” Along with this, a walkathon was also organized in Chemmad Town with the participation of school students as part of IEC awareness under the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project. The walkathon was organized jointly by the JRC and School Social Service Scheme students of Thrikkulam High School, NSS volunteers of Tirurangadi High School, NSS of Farook Training College, and municipal councillors, starting from Thrikkulam High School and ending at the Municipal Office. More than 200 students, representatives of the people, and others participated in the programme, which included messages on scientific waste management and awareness messages on the need to keep our surroundings clean. The Municipal Chairperson flagged off the walkathon.
As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, the municipality-level mega cleanliness drive commenced today in the premises of the Village Office. The mega cleanliness activities were led by the various Municipal Standing Committee Chairpersons, Shri. Mohammed Iqbal, Shri. V V Abu, Smt. C P Suhrabi, Smt. Shahina Thirunilath, and Smt. Rifa Fathah. At the function, the Health Standing Committee Chairperson, Smt. C P Suhrabi, delivered the welcome address. The activities of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 project were explained by the Municipal Clean City Manager, Shri. Prakashan T K. The function was presided over by the Municipal Deputy Chairperson, Shri. Abdurahimankutty, and the Municipal Chairperson, Smt. C P Habeeba Basheer, inaugurated the programme. Municipal employees, elected representatives, Haritha Karma Sena members, urban employment guarantee workers, and traders participated in the cleanliness activities.
As part of the Swachhata Ki Seva 2026 campaign, the municipality has decided to organize public cleanliness activities in all 40 wards within the municipal limits as part of the activities extending from September 17 to October 17. Municipal Secretary Shri. M V Ramsi Ismail expressed his thanks at the function.
